Homogeneous bundles over abelian varieties and representation theory

The homogeneous (or translation-invariant) vector bundles over an abelian variety have been described by Miyanishi and Mukai via methods of algebraic geometry. We show how to recover their results by a representation-theoretic approach. This also yields a description of the homogeneous projective bundles, in terms of Heisenberg groups and their standard representations.
