The Space of Lagrangian Planes: A Gentle Introduction

Robert Marangell (Sydney)

Abstract

This talk will focus on the geometry of the space of Lagrangian planes Λ(n). Colloquially, this is the set of real n dimensional planes in complex n space. I will attempt to describe the space in a number of different, equivalent ways. The main focus will be on understanding the geometry of Λ(2), but I will occasionally extrapolate to more general dimensions when it is possible.
