Title:

Infinitesimal one-parameter subgroups and exponentiation

Abstract:

Let $G$ be a semisimple algebraic group over a field of characteristic $p$. In this talk, we will describe the varieties of infinitesimal one-parameter subgroups of $G$, and discuss their importance in representation theory. We will also consider a related question which deals with the existence of certain Springer isomorphisms between the nilpotent variety of $\mathrm{Lie}(G)$ and the unipotent variety of $G$.
