Postgraduate Seminar: Yinan Zhang -- L functions, p-adic numbers and the class number formula

We began by a brief introduction on complex L functions and the p-adic number system,
followed by examining p-adic L functions.  This will be linked back to the analytic
class number formula and how it helps with my goal of computing the p part of the class
group.  

The talk will be fairly basic and introductory since the concept is probably unfamiliar
to most people, and there won’t be much (if at all) analysis in detail.
