A new approach to assignments and examinations in mathematics courses

Abstract
This paper discusses a case study drawn from the author's recent
teaching of discrete mathematics. The paper illustrates a
possible means for combining assignments and examinations which
avoids cheating and unethical behaviour, but at the same time
leads to favourable learning outcomes and accurate grading and
ranking of students.
