Most, but not all of the material presented in this section is a review of some facts about vectors you know from first year. We only extend some definitions to “higher dimensions”. A more in depth presentation will be given in a course on linear algebra or matrix applications. As its name says, vector calculus is calculus with vectors, and thus a good working knowledge of vectors is essential.
